TentenQuiz Learning Guide

Step-by-step instructions for new learners

TentenQuiz trains quick recall: answer within 10 seconds, solve missed questions again, and repeat chosen words in your wordbook. This guide explains the full path from language selection to progress recovery.

1. Quick start

  1. Choose My language, which is used for meanings and interface text.
  2. Choose the language you want to learn.
  3. Select a stage that matches your level.
  4. Select an everyday topic.
  5. Listen or read, then choose the correct meaning from four options within 10 seconds.

New learner tip: begin with one topic in Stage 1, complete a 10-question round, and review the wrong answers before continuing.

2. Stages and topics

The learning map contains 10 stages × 10 topics × 25 words: 250 concepts per stage and 2,500 in total.

  • Nature / Weather
  • People / Relationships
  • Body / Health
  • Food / Drink
  • Home / Daily life
  • Activities / Leisure
  • Places / Transport
  • School / Work
  • Shopping / Money
  • Time / Calendar

A stage marks the learning order; a topic groups words by everyday situation. Topics within the same stage may be studied in any order and keep separate progress.

3. The 10-second, 10-question quiz

A normal round presents up to 10 words in random order. Use the speaker to hear the learning-language pronunciation again. A correct answer advances quickly. A wrong answer or timeout reveals the correct meaning and adds the word to that stage’s wrong-answer list.

After all 25 words in a topic have been attempted, its button shows completion and a small celebration. A 10/10 round starts the perfect-score celebration.

4. Clear wrong answers

  1. Wrong and timed-out questions are saved automatically.
  2. Open Clear wrong answers from the current stage.
  3. Answer correctly to remove a word from the list.
  4. If it is missed again, it remains available for another review.

Try bringing the counter back to zero before moving far into new material.

5. My wordbook

Add any word you want to remember from the results screen. Wordbook questions reshuffle and repeat until you stop the session. On a wrong answer or timeout, the answer still pops up and is spoken once in your own language before the next question.

Wordbooks are separated by your language, learning language, and stage. For example, Japanese-to-Chinese entries do not mix with Korean-to-Chinese entries.

6. A practical review routine

  1. Answer 10 new questions.
  2. Clear the wrong-answer list immediately.
  3. Add confusing or important words to your wordbook.
  4. Finish all 25 words in the topic.
  5. Repeat your wordbook briefly the next day.

Regular short returns matter more than finishing an entire stage in one sitting.

7. Saving and restoring progress

Settings, progress, wrong answers, and wordbook entries are stored automatically in the current browser. When a 25-word topic is completed for the first time, an encrypted cloud backup is also created. Keep the recovery code private so you can load your records on another device.

  • Never share the recovery code.
  • Without both the old device and the code, the operator cannot locate your anonymous backup.
  • Take extra care when using a shared computer.

8. Frequently asked questions

Can I mix topics within one stage?

Yes. Each topic tracks its own 25 words.

Do records mix when I switch languages?

No. They are separated by your language, learning language, and stage.

Does a wrong answer count toward topic progress?

Progress shows that a word was attempted. Missed words remain in Clear wrong answers for mastery review.

What if audio is silent?

Check media volume and browser site-mute settings. Some browsers require one screen tap before the first sound.

Can I install it like an app?

On supported browsers, use the small install prompt. Once installed, open TentenQuiz from its desktop shortcut or Home Screen icon.
